About Me
I currently teach band and general music in Williamston and Okemos, Michigan located near East Lansing and Michigan State University. I work with grades K-8 and love watching kids learn about music and improve from year to year. By participating in the Master of Arts in Educational Technology program at Michigan State University, I want to improve my awareness and understanding of technology in the classroom.
In my free time, I enjoy playing and listening to music, cooking and drinking coffee all over the country. (I also enjoy doing these things with the guy in the photo, my husband Dave.) |

I am very proud to be a member of the Capital City Brass Band located in Lansing, Michigan. My primary instrument is the euphonium and I enjoy playing around the mid-Michigan area with this fine ensemble. |
Music Advocacy in the state of Michigan
Music advocacy is an important issue, especially with the school budget crisis in the state of Michigan. Please check out information from the Michigan State Band and Orchestra Association to keep updated on Michigan's plans for the future of music education.

Why do we do what we do? This video made a huge impact on my idea of how and why adults are motivated and can be directly related to students and classrooms. |
